Milton Stark remembers driving down the pecan shell covered dirt road to Mr. D. B. Roach’s home, the original owner of the business, when a pound of pecans was only .25 cents.  D.B. Roach had been in the business of selling pecans for over 30 years, before Milton and Charla Stark took over in 1999. When Milton and Charla took over selling pecans, they started in a 10×10 mini storage unit next to the car wash in Bertram.  With the help of their daughter Kim, and her husband Mike, they’ve grown into what is today the Nutcracker Station. The Starks believe that the best part of the business is the different people they’ve met from all walks of life; and the stories they’ve heard, and the friendships they’ve made. Milton & Charla’s original intention in creating the Nutcracker Station was to create a place for their family to join together and have a great time while selling pecans. We’ve stayed true to their wishes; and throughout the pecan season everyone in the family helps out.
